China's Communist Party leaders threw a birthday party today for a dead man whose ample corpse has been on display in a crystal case at a mausoleum on Tiananmen Square for years.

Mao Zedong, longtime chairman of the Chinese Communist Party and the dominant political figure in China for nearly three decades, would have turned 100 today.
