Sinuses; 33 Million Americans Need Them Like a Hole in the Head

Donna Gunther had no sense of smell for more than seven years. Francis Yealy had double vision. David Bull had asthma and fits of uncontrollable coughing.

Although their symptoms were different, each of these patients suffers from chronic sinus disease. And through a variety of treatments, they're all better than they were.

The National Center for Health Statistics estimates that 33 million Americans suffer from sinus disease every year, making it this country's No. 1 chronic ailment, more common even than arthritis.
