Historic Home for Elderly May Be Sold; Sevier House Proceeds Would Be Split Between Church, Heirs

Sevier House, a historic Georgetown mansion, and the property
around it soon may be sold, ending a long dispute over the ownership
and use of the property.
Under terms of a negotiated agreement, proceeds of the sale of the
Georgetown mansion, converted to a home for elderly residents 35
years ago, would be split equally between the Sevier family, the
original owners, and the Episcopal Church Home, a nonprofit
organization that managed the elderly facility, according to
attorneys involved in the case.
Before the court-ordered sale takes place, however, former
residents will be given 60 days to ...
