Annexation has its limits

Gone are the days when Yakima annexations were approved
unanimously. Instead, City Council members are taking their time,
asking more questions. They want assurances that the annexations are
justified and wonder if the promise of increased revenue will be
realized.
"Logical growth is good for the city," Councilman Bill Lover said.
"If you annex for revenue, that's probably the worst thing to do."
The council first detoured from a pro-growth policy -- dating back
