PULLMAN -- A 25-3 run to wrap up the first half proved to be too much as the Central Washington men's basketball team dropped its first exhibition game 84-40 to Washington State on Sunday at Friel Court.

The Wildcats scored the game's first basket and were within five at 23-18 before watching the Division I Cougars score 14 straight points to take a 37-18 lead. A 3-pointer by Lance Den Boer broke the Washington State run, but WSU scored the next 11 points to take a commanding 48-21 lead at the intermission.
