YAKIMA - Robert G. Smithson, Sr. died September 7, 2004, at Landmark Care Center, Yakima, WA following an extended illness.

Bob was born to George T. and Crystal (Chastain) Smithson on January 6, 1923 at Everett, WA. He married Wynema Rackley in Arkansas on December 2, 1944. He attended Everett High School and served in Europe during WWII with the U.S. Army, 16th Armored Division. Except for the time he was in the military and a very short period of time in Arkansas following his honorable discharge, he spent his life in Everett, WA.
