She was born April 18, 1920 in Asheville, North Carolina, to the
late John Harrison and Bertha Sluder Griffin. She graduated from
Woodfin High School, Asheville, North Carolina. On October 24, l940
she married Frederick W. Osborne. During their early years of
marriage, they and their 3 young children moved west to Yakima,
Washington.
