Editorial -- Celebrating 100 Years -- Bureau of Reclamation, Water Pioneers Created Our Valley's Prosperity

As the federal Bureau of Reclamation prepares to observe its 100th
anniversary Tuesday, we can only say this: What a century of
incredible accomplishment it has been.
For openers, let's note that we all sit smack dab in the middle of
one of the bureau's huge reclamation success stories, the Yakima
Irrigation Project. Without the five bureau-managed reservoirs that
feed the Yakima River Basin, this area as we know it would not exist.
