Lawyers shut down courtrooms and students rioted today to protest
the military government's annulment of presidential elections aimed
at restoring civilian rule.
In the southwestern states of Lagos and Osun, students rioted,
leading to the closing of schools. In the Osun city of Modakeke
outside Lagos, five teenagers were crushed to death late Monday by a
truck that ignored their order to stop.
In nearby Oshogbo, a student was killed today when a car ran into
