I have been a member of the State Employee Association since the
day I entered state service. The SEA has increased its membership by
20 percent over the past three years at a time when, nationally,
union membership has been declining. There is value to SEA
membership!
Fair share is a component of a negotiated contract between the
state and its employees in the 1999-2001 collective bargaining
agreement. The state and the SEA agreed that a supermajority of 60
percent of eligible employees have become SEA members. So now the
remaining 40 percent will either become members by paying union dues ...
