District 34; Rodd to go back to House Voters choose her to fill Colcord's seat

Beth Rodd, a former Democratic state representative from Bradford, won a special legislative election yesterday, easily defeating Republican Peter Russell of Hopkinton.

"I'm so happy to be going back," Rodd said last night. "It feels like home in the State House."

The race between Rodd and Russell was for a vacant seat in District 34, which includes the towns of Hopkinton, Henniker, Warner, Bradford, Sutton, Webster and Newbury.

Rodd served in the House from 1998 to 2002. She lost a closely fought re-election bid in 2002, falling 11 votes short after several recounts. With her victory, ...
