Teens to face charges in harbor booze party

HINGHAM - Seventeen teenagers partying on boats in Hingham Harbor will be summoned to court on alcohol-possession charges.

At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Assistant Harbormaster Kenneth Corson was making a routine patrol when he came upon two 24-foot boats tied together and anchored in the inner harbor. Corson noticed that there were not enough life preservers for everyone present, police said.

Lt. Michael Peraino said Corson called police and asked for a cruiser to meet him at the Hingham Yacht Club dock where he escorted the two boats.
