HONORING Abigail Free tours of the birthplace of Abigail Adams, one half of Washington's first power couple, highlight society's 60th anniversary

You could call it a "his and her" anniversary: As the Adams
National Historical Park in Quincy celebrates its 60th anniversary,
so is the Abigail Adams Historical Society.
Like the federal park, the Weymouth society is marking the
occasion with its own special events, starting Saturday afternoon
with free tours of the former First Lady's birthplace on Norton
Street.
Visitors can also browse an exhibit of memorabilia from the
society, which was formed to restore the 17th-century house as it
would have looked and been furnished when Abigail was born there in
1744.
