Squantum's charm is in its isolation, residents say

The Boston skyline looms in the distance, tiny lights twinkling at
night across the black waters of Dorchester Bay. Closer to home, the
condominium towers of Marina Bay create a mini cityscape as they rise
out of the marshland.
But close as Squantum may be to urban life, the peninsula's older
section feels just as isolated and insulated as ever, residents say.
And that's the way they like it.
"I think that's always been part of the appeal," said Marie
Stamos, a realtor who has lived in Squantum since 1974. "It's a
choice. They want to live here."
