William H. White Sr., World War II veteran captured during Battle of the Bulge

NATICK - William H. "Wiggy" White Sr., 83, of Natick, a prisoner of war who was captured during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, died Wednesday at Metro West Medical Center in Natick after a long illness.

Mr. White was released on Easter Sunday 1945 after troops of the 1st and 3rd Army liberated his camp.

He was a foreman with the Natick Highway Department for 37 years before he retired. He was also a Natick selectman for six years, a member of the Natick Conservation Commission and a call fireman in Natick for eight years.
