Israel has had Jewish presence for centuries

I realize your "In the News" items are intended to be concise, but
that doesn't justify being superficial and misleading. The "Evolution
of Israel" item, in particular, misses essentially all the critical
points:
The current state of Israel exists on the territory of the ancient
states of Israel and Judah, described in the Bible. Omission of this
detail, even if you assume your readers already know it, makes the
item incomplete and deceptive at best. It also leads to omission of a
critical detail: that the land still had a significant Jewish
population when it was conquered and subsequently ...
