Dancer-choreographers Mark Morris and Trisha Brown, each of whom I recently saw at an extended weekend danceathon in New York City, may not have terribly much in common stylistically. But they do share one highly significant attribute indeed: Both are bellwethers of the state of the art and prognosticators of what's to come.
