Quincy man lets Daniel Webster make a Marshfield 'comeback'

MARSHFIELD - Daniel Webster, Marshfield's most famous resident of the 19th century, walked into Ventress Memorial Library yesterday looking unsure of his surroundings.

The library, looking nothing like the buildings of his era, distracted Webster only for a moment. He soon began to regale the crowd with tales of his many years of public and private life.

Yesterday was Daniel Webster Day in Marshfield. And Jim Cooke, a Quincy resident who has been portraying Webster for more than 15 years, brought his one-man show to Marshfield.
