CANTON - Alfred A. Tempesta, 56, of Canton, a computer programmer, formerly of Newton, died Monday of cancer. Mr. Tempesta was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam.

He attended the Computer Technical Institute in Boston. Mr. Tempesta was born in Newton and graduated from Newton North High School.
