If anything could make Benjamin Franklin or his Poor Richard - to whom the above wisdom was credited in June 1746 - roll over in his grave, it would be the city council's controversial 9-8 vote last week to declare Philadelphia a "Pro-Choice City."

The resolution is beyond useless, pandering to the pro-choice crowd while doing nothing to serve the interests of Philadelphians....
