During Easter vacation in 1948, the great outdoors called with a
loud voice to four young adventurers on school break.
A group of choirboys from St. John's Episcopal Church of Lancaster
decided that a camping trip was in order to celebrate spring. We were
a tightly knit group, three of us students at Reynolds Junior High
School and one from Edward Hand. So the four of us, Richard "Dick"
Weaver, Elmer "Soapy" Stoe, Jere Todd and I set out to plan a trip
