Few of us will ever see a bog turtle, but that does not diminish their importance.

Bog turtles require wetland habitats and, finally, the critical importance of wetlands is entering our collective consciousness.

Bog turtles are on the federal threatened species list and Pennsylvania's endangered species list.

George Gress, 46, of Lebanon County, presented Wednesday evening at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area an informative and interesting program on bog turtles.
