Thaddeus Stevens' relatives visiting city for 1st time

Descendants of Thaddeus Stevens' older brother, Joshua, touring historic buildings associated with Stevens in downtown Lancaster Sunday morning, came away awed by the experience.

"It's the connections," said Sylvia Stevens Gadient, whose father and son are named Thaddeus. "You hear about Thaddeus Stevens all your life and then you're actually in his home and office. It's the connections."

Gadient, of Gig Harbor, Wash., and three other Joshua Stevens descendants from Indiana, are visiting Lancaster for the first time.

Sunday's excursion introduced a tour of several sites related to Thaddeus ...
