Aug. 22 through Aug. 28 is recognized nationally as Truck Driver Appreciation Week. This provides all of us the opportunity to honor and appreciate the men and women who drive commercial vehicles.

Virtually every commodity that we consume, produce and purchase is transported by truck. Statistics indicate that 80% of our communities are serviced exclusively by trucks. The trucking industry and particularly the truck drivers are the backbone of our nation's economy.
