President Bush on Friday is scheduled to visit an East Lampeter Township company that seems the very essence of the American Dream: a family-owned business with humble origins.

The business, Lapp Electrical Services Inc., was started by Manny and Flossie Lapp in 1969 in their home as an electrical services and contracting company.

The company, now headed by the Lapps' sons, Greg and Tim, has since expanded its expertise to include computer technology communications and industrial automation.

The company has about 50 employees and operates out of a 15,000- square-foot building at 2420 Gehman ...
