Richard W. "Bud" Baxter Jr., 77, of 102 Shannon Drive, died Tuesday morning at Masonic Village at Elizabethtown after a long illness.

Baxter was a pressman at Lancaster Newspapers Inc. He retired in 1989 after 38 years.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served as a storekeeper 3rd class from 1944 to 1946 and received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Millersville.
