The new management team at Colonial Parking Inc., concerned
about a weak District economy and declining parking rates, is
calling for D.C. officials to attract and retain new businesses for
the city.
"We are really getting squeezed on all sides. It has been very
tough, it really has been," said Eric Lindner, 36, the Washington
company's new chairman and son of Thaddeus Lindner, a co-founder of
Colonial Parking. "There are a hell of a lot of empty buildings.
And more often than not, companies would move not from one D.C.
building to another, but from D.C. to Ballston or another suburb."
