Famous Amos is getting the spa treatment: hair coloring, pedicure, the absolute works.

For the past week, the giant Amishman fiberglass statue, a long- time fixture at the former Zinn's Diner along Route 272 in Denver, has been resting supine on a cart in the basement of the Lancaster Trust building on Market Street, Lancaster.

There, Irv Lichty of Lancaster is giving new life to the nearly 14 1/2-foot, pitch-fork-holding Amos, which now belongs to the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster County. It's the kind of cosmetic overhaul and pampering any Beverly Hills socialite would envy.
