IT IS A TRADITION going back more than 2,500 years old. A sacred art form that is filled with profound meaning for Buddhists.

And it is an extraordinarily beautiful creation.

The Tibetan Buddhist monks, from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in southern India, are creating a mandala sandpainting at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg.

They also will be performing a concert of sacred music and sacred dance on Sunday at 7 p.m.
