Lancaster might have a new minor-league football team this summer.
Andrew Haines, a 1997 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg, plans to own
and coach a team called the Lancaster Lightning.
The way he sees it, the team will be made up of local Lancaster-
Lebanon League talent, will play in a local high school football
stadium, will compete in the same league as the Harrisburg-based
Central Penn Piranha, and will open the season against the Piranha, a
local rival.
