16-Year-Old Fatally Shot In District; 4 Other Slayings Put D.C. Homicides at 315

First it was a loud argument among angry teenagers, not that
unusual to residents along a street in Northwest Washington's
Petworth area that has become a weekend hangout for youths.
But what followed Saturday night got everyone's attention.
"Twenty minutes {after the argument}, it was boom, boom, boom,
boom. It was loud. It shook the house," said one resident, who
declined to give her name.
D.C. police arrived to find Aaron Jones, 16, lying dead in a
graffiti-marked alley that intersects the 600 block of Emerson
Street NW. Jones had been shot many times.
