The Zebra Room said goodbye to its family last night, and surely the biggest hangovers this morning are emotional and belong to the departing owners and faithful servants of the legendary watering hole on the corner of Macomb Street and Wisconsin Avenue NW.

One of the last of the old-time neighborhood bars, open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., the Zebra Room restaurant in its 34 years has served a cast of cops, robbers, newspaper and television people, vicars, gargoyle carvers and bell ringers from the cathedral up the street, college students, the blue-haired set from along Wisconsin…
