Buckland Residents Balk at Plans to Raise Level of Lake Manassas

A plan by the city of Manassas to provide extra water for Prince William County by raising the level of its reservoir by five feet has residents in the historic area of Buckland outraged. They fear that their homes will be flooded and that the remnants of their 18th-century mill town will be destroyed.

"It's a question of interests. They {Manassas residents} don't have any interest in Buckland," said Jim Toth, 57, who owns property on the Broad Run stream that residents are afraid ...
