It seemed like such a simple project: Build a canoe in a high
school woodworking class.
Yes, it was the first time a totally wood canoe would be built by
a student. And yes, exotic hard woods would have to be found. And --
OK -- it would take a lot of work.
But hey, it's just a canoe.
Right?
Well, not exactly.
Brandon Steffy, a just-graduated senior at Garden Spot High
School, is glad he didn't know how difficult it would be or how long
it would take to build...
