This sports fan finds it difficult to warm up to the Winter Olympics.

What This Space is about to propose may, on the surface, seem radical. Stay with me.

In 1980 the United States boycotted the Olympics because the host country had attacked Afghanistan.

2002 is another Olympic year. Afghanistan is again under attack from the host country.

I say we boycott the Olympics again.

I know what you're thinking: WE are the host country this time, you silly columnist.
