Edwin Cook Jr., 85, Kerr graphic artist

Edwin W. Cook Jr., 85, of 1283 Wheatland Ave., formerly of Willow Street, died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday morning at Lancaster General Hospital.

Cook joined the former Armstrong Cork Co. as a graphic artist in 1940 and began heading the graphic arts department in 1945. He continued to work at the New Holland Avenue facility after its purchase by Kerr Glass Co.

In addition to graphic design, Cook developed a number of processes for improved printing on metal and plastic. He retired in 1981 but continued until 1991 as a consultant for Kerr and its suppliers in New Jersey, Texas, ...
