Johns Hopkins University plans $73M facelift to Gilman Hall

Johns Hopkins University will begin a $73 million overhaul of Gilman Hall this summer, modernizing the century-old academic building that defines its Homewood campus.

The redevelopment would create more academic space in the building, allowing the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences to reassemble all of its 10 departments under one roof. Gilman has traditionally been associated with the humanities, but a lack of space has pushed the History of Art and History of Science and Technology departments into different buildings.
