Maryland remembers retired Judge Frederick A. Thayer III

Frederick A. Thayer III, a retired circuit judge for the Garrett County Circuit Court, has passed away from heart disease. He was 73.

Thayer was the county's only sitting circuit judge for 19 years until he stepped down in 1996. Even throughout his retirement, he continued to play an active role in the courts as well as the greater Western Maryland community.
