FROM BAD TO VERSE

COME, MY PEOPLE, as I unlock my word-hoard and travel with you
through tribes and nations across the earth.
What do you think? I woke up this morning and instantly decided to
change my writing style. As inspiration I picked the 7th-century Old
English poet Widsith but, apart from that opening sentence, I have to
say it is not going well.
Widsith's work is full of people called things like Hrothwulf and
Hrothgar, who repulse the Vikings (it doesn't say how but I'm
guessing table manners) and then hew a lot of things in order to face
up to Heorot Heathobeard's army. These are not matters that ...
