Imperial's commercial arm plans pounds 200m float

IMPERIAL Innovations, the commercial arm of Imperial College London, is to seek a listing on the stock market which could value the company at up to pounds 200m.

The firm, which spins out fledgling companies from the college, last week advertised for a chief financial officer as a prelude to a float.

The capital raised in a listing will help the company to invest in businesses that start life as intellectual property within the college's respected research departments.
