O'Reilly seeks London listing for Providence Resources

PROVIDENCE Resources, the Irish oil and gas explorer backed by Sir Anthony O'Reilly, the Irish media tycoon, is poised to become the latest resource company to list in London.

The company, which is 46 per cent owned by O'Reilly and is already quoted in Dublin, is to list on the Alternative Investment Market in the next few weeks.

``We want to come to Aim to get a re-rating and possibly raise some capital,'' said Tony O'Reilly Jnr, a non-executive director of Providence. ``It's a bigger market and people appreciate oil and gas stories.''
