Hollick tunes into TV Lord Hollick, the head of United Business Media, puts the case to Guy Dennis for turning channel Five into a serious competitor to ITV through a merger

Lord Hollick has been grabbing headlines on three fronts recently.
First, he has been on the shortlist to be the new chairman of BAE
Systems, Britain's biggest defence company. Then United Business
Media, the company where Hollick is chief executive, reported better-
than-expected profits and hinted at a string of acquisitions.
And most recently there have been reports that channel Five, the
TV channel in which UBM has a 35 per cent stake, may merge with
Channel 4 or British Sky Broadcasting - deals that would radically
alter the shape of terrestrial TV.
