DOUG STEIL is sitting on a chrome bar stool in the middle of a noisy bowling alley. The Stars and Stripes hangs on a wall. In one corner, a burger bar dispenses super-size Cokes and hot dogs. Christina Aguilera pumps out from the sound system, the music mingling with the whoops of the bowlers.
