For Asil Nadir the years of sun-drenched exile in the Turkish
enclave of northern Cyprus could soon be over. His lawyers will serve
notice on the Serious Fraud Office within two weeks that the one-
time "Sultan of Berkeley Square" intends, at last, to face his
prosecutors in court.
Nadir fled the country in 1993 after the collapse of his pounds
2bn Polly Peck empire. A decade on, he wants to clear his name - and
according to his lawyers he will be aggressive in his attempts to
prove that the SFO over-reached itself in the way it prosecuted him.
