`It is a big joke, no?" says Pascal Khoo Thwe, settling back into the sofa as he puffs on a Burmese cheroot, emitting clouds of strongly scented smoke. "When I was living in the jungle I was shot at many times, but only hit once by a bullet - in the leg. And it didn't hit the bone. But when I came to London, I fell down the stairs at Liverpool Street station and broke three bones!" Pascal chuckles.
