Fire under control
A forest fire, which broke out on Wednesday in North China's Inner
Mongolia has been put out, local sources said yesterday.
The blaze, which began at about noon and covered an area of less
than one hectare in forests in the Sandaoqiao area of Hulunbuir, was
caused by a local farmer who lit it to clear his field of weeds.
Some 200 people, including 90 forest police, were involved in
fighting the fire, which was eventually extinguished on Wednesday
