Nanning offers grand stage for global folk singers

NANNING, Guangxi: The 2006 Nanning International Folk Song Arts
Festival, set from October 31 to November 3, will become a grand gala
for the exchange of culture and art, for economic co-operation and
trade development, as well as for the promotion of tourism and
delicacies of this important Southwest China city of Nanning,
nicknamed "Green City in China."
According to Xiao Yingzi, vice-mayor of Nanning, several events
during the festival are worth attending, citing the grand party to
celebrate the opening of the festival as well as the 2006 China-
