Kafir lily, whose name means nobility in Latin, is one of China's
favourite flowers.
The flower used to be enjoyed only by the privileged when it was
first introduced to Northeast China in 1931. Not until 1945 did the
flower start to show up at a grass roots level.
Now as the city flower of Changchun, it enjoys great popularity
with locals.
