Taishan Mountain holds temple fair
|
The annual Taishan Mountain Temple Fair, with its theme of
"experiencing folk custom" is attracting tourists from home and
abroad for an experience of the unique culture of the mountain as
well as its beautiful landscape.
A grand opening ceremony was held on Wednesday morning with a
classic theatrical performance showcasing the mountain's folk
customs.
The fair
The temple fair, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (AD618-907), has
been held for more than 1,300 years to commemorate the birthday of
the God of Taishan on March 28 of the Lunar Calendar.
It will close on May 7.
