Nation to improve iron ore trade management
|
China is poised once again to cut the number of businesses with
permits to deal with iron ore imports to improve co-ordination in the
sector.
Since a new system was implemented earlier last year for Chinese
steel makers and iron ore trading companies, the number of
enterprises qualified to import iron ore from overseas was reduced to
118 from 523 in 2004.
And an unnamed source revealed:"The threshold for an iron ore
import permit is likely to be elevated again by the end of this year.
